A year and a half in the making, Optimism is the album Michael Gray was born to make — a 13-track double LP that pours three decades of house music mastery into one career-defining statement.
Recorded with live drums by Derrick McKenzie of Jamiroquai, percussion from Russ Tarley of Incognito, and string arrangements by Stephen Hussey — known for Soul II Soul's early classics. House music crafted the proper way.
DJ support from Laurent Garnier, Mousse T, Mark Knight, Dr Packer and many more. Gatefold sleeve. Still available for the discerning collector.

The "Sultra" Brand is the brainchild of Music Producer and DJ Michael Gray. Michael established Sultra in 2018 after the relaunch of his solo career to enable him to push out more Upfront House and Disco tracks on his own label.
Sultra Records has had many successful releases including Michael's Good Vibes Remix of Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy" and his hit release "Fly Away" and most recently "Gravity" which reached number 1 on the Traxsource Global Chart.
In March 2023 the Sultra Brand expanded into Sultra Events. Starting at POW, Brixton and moving in 2025 to ACanteen in Essex where every event to date has sold out in advance.
Melanie joined Michael in building the Sultra brand in 2025 and the "Sultra Family" was established.
Sultra is about sharing our love for Upfront House and Disco as well as the classics and bringing it to all age groups. Our plan is to take the events around the UK and beyond.
